Genius, in the renaissance sense, describes a self-creating artist who not only imitates nature, but who accomplishes what nature itself has not been able to accomplish.  Our work deals with this relationship. Is mankind, through his cultivation and domestication of nature, still able to see itself as an integral part? Due to the increasing use of technology in our society, there is a continuous distancing from our environment. The unrecognizability of the faces found in our work underlines this aspect and thus leads to a dehumanization. 

Rotko & Rotko is an artist duo from Vienna, Austria. They work together and individually on various projects.
